A Few Words About Us
The definition of a bistro is a small, neighborhood, casual eating establishment known for serving hearty, simple fare. Cork Neighborhood Bistro is that and much more.
With a passion for good food and years of catering experience and entrepreneurship under his belt, opening a restaurant just made sense for owner Tradd Ashley Gibbs. Chef Sean Wren, Tradd's longtime friend, yearned to create a bistro-style restaurant in the neighborhood.
With the redevelopment of the North Charleston area, the Olde Village has become a destination embracing both a local heritage and a community proud of their neighborhood. Cork Neighborhood Bistro was created to bring a unique menu and experience to Park Circle. Cork has a downtown appeal for Olde Village residents to enjoy without having to venture far from home.
The name Cork was chosen in recognition of the natural sustainability of cork materials. Tradd and Sean have committed to being as green as possible at every opportunity. Almost everything in the restaurant has been reclaimed, refurbished and repurposed, as opposed to buying new. We are also changing the menu regularly based on local, fresh foods that are in season.

Meet The Owner & The Chef
The Proprietor, Tradd Ashley Gibbs, heritage and ties to North Charleston go back before he was even born. His parents were high school sweethearts and graduates from North Charleston High School. His maternal grandfather, a member of the S.C. House of Representatives for 14 years, was instrumental in bringing the government closer to the local people. He was unofficially named the Mayor without a city for his struggle to incorporate North Charleston so the area could be ran as a city. On June 12, 1972, after a series of legal battles, the S.C. Supreme Court upheld the incorporation referendum results and North Charleston became a city. Tradds Paternal grandfather worked over 30 years for Westvaco Paper Mill. The tie with North Charleston continues with the Gibbs Family. Tradd, his wife, and sons reside in the Park Circle area as well as his parents. His aunt is also a local Park Circle business owner and resident.
Chef Sean Wren is a 1997 Graduate of Johnso & Wales University, he previously worked at Park Circle Grill (now Sesame Burgers), Yeamans Hall Country Club and Keepers Restaurant in Massachusetts. He and Tradd have operated a successful catering company for over six years. Chef Wren will serve an eclectic bistro fare with a commitment to fresh food, using local ingredients. The menu will be non-traditional with a touch of southern flare to showcase both Tradd and Seans heritage. Chef Wren also lives in Park Circle and his father also attended North Charleston High School.

Never a starving artist here, Chef Wren makes sure that they eat very well...
Shows run every two to three months and are of mixed mediums. The main dining normally has paintings and the back dining room focuses on photography.
